All round Rasool helps J & K to an advantageous position

Centurion Amandeep Khare helped tip the balance in Chhattisgarh’s favour until play ended for the day against Andhra while Yuzvendra Chahal put Haryana on top with a six-wicket haul against Hyderabad.

Parvez Rasool top-scored for Jammu and Kashmir and then returned to claimed wickets and keep his team in the driver’s seat against Goa.

Hyderabad vs Haryana in Jamshedpur:
Hyderabad 1st inn 191/10 in 82.5 overs ( B Sandeep 44, K Sumanth 35, Y Chahal 6/44)
Haryana leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dismantled the Hyderabad line with a six-wicket haul in Jamshedpur. In the process the wily 26-year old claimed his first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. After Harshal Patel claimed the key wicket of opener Akshath Reddy to set the ball rolling and captain Mohit Sharma sent back Tanmay Agarwal, Chahal wrecked the middle-order to bowl the opposition out.

Kerala vs Himachal in Eden Gardens, Kolkata:
Kerala 1st inn 163/4 in 73 overs (S Baby 52*, S Samson 47, G Singh 1/17)

After the openers were returned to pavilion Kerala on 17 for two, skipper Rohan Prem too was sent back by Gurvinder Singh 32 runs later.

Sanju Samson then and Sachin Baby then came together to take the team past the three-figure mark. However, with the side on 106, Rishi Dhawan accounted for the wicketkeeper batsman.
  
Batting on 52 when play ended for the day, Sachin had taken the stumps at 163 for four with VA Jagadeesh.

Tripura vs Services in Guwahati: Tripura 1st inn 228/7 in 76 overs (B Gosh 49, M Khalid 4/56)

Leg-spinner M Khalid (four wickets) and pacer Diwesh Pathania (two wickets) kept Tripura in check after electing to field. Striking at regular intervals, the pair didn’t allow for partnerships to form in the ongoing game.

The match was evenly poised with Tripura in 228 for seven with R Dey and G Singh in the middle in an unbroken 40-run stand.

Parvez Rasool was shone with both the bat and ball on the first day of the ongoing game in Surat as the allrounder first score a vital 82 runs and then had claimed two wickets until stumps to leave Goa on the backfoot.

As 14 wickets fell on the first day, Rasool top-scored for J & K to help the team to a respectable total after electing to bat. He then returned with Ram Dayal to send Goa reeling on 43 for the loss of five wickets at the end of day’s play. While spinner picked two wickets the pacer took two.

Earlier Shadab Jakati claimed four wickets while picked three and Saurabh Bandekar chipped in with two to bowl J & K out for 227 in the first innings. Besides Rasool it was ID Singh’s 67 that helped the team post a decent total on the board.

Andhra vs Chhattisgarh in Kalyani, Bengal:

India Under-19 performer last season, Amandeep Khare starred for Chhattisgarh in their Round 2 match on the first day. The youngster rallied on to take the team to 261 for four with 136 not out in Bengal. He was batting with A Chauhan when play ended for the day. Coming in to bat at 69 for two, the youngster played a patient knock to anchor the innings.
