Defending champions Mumbai secured a comfortable 10-wicket win against Railways on the final day of the fifth-round Ranji Trophy match to climb to the top of the Group A table. Punjab too, did not face much trouble in going past Uttar Pradesh to register seven wickets win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad. Punjab secured six points and are now third in the table while a third loss meant Uttar Pradesh slipped to the seventh position.

Mumbai vs Railways in Mysore: Mumbai 345 (Suryakumar Yadav 110; Karn Sharma 5-81) and 24/0 beat Railways 160 (Vijay Gohil 5-64) and 208 (Tushar Deshpande 5-35) by ten wickets.
Defending champions Mumbai registered their second win this season after beating Railways by a comfortable margin of 10 wickets at the Srikanta Datta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar ground in Mysuru. Resuming on 135 for 4, Railways first lost overnight batsman, Nitin Bhille without any addition to the score. Faiz Ahmed and Ashish Yadav put on a 35-run stand but the rest folded cheaply. Needing just 24 runs, openers Akhil Herwadkar and Shreyas Iyer reached the mark without any loss. Mumbai picked seven points.
Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh in Hyderabad: Uttar Pradesh 335 (Kuldeep Yadav 71; Sandeep Sharma 5-85) & 95 (Rinku Singh 43*; Siddharth Kaul 6-27) lost to Punjab 319 (Yuvraj Singh 85; Saurabh Kumar 4-71) & 112/3 (Jiwanjot Singh 69; Saurabh Kumar 2-31) by 7 wickets.
A seven-wicket victory over Uttar Pradesh on the fourth day handed Punjab six points and their second outright victory in five games. Needing just 51 runs to win, Punjab were guided home by Jiwanjot Singh (69), who registered his 18th first-class fifty. Uday Kaul hit the winning runs after Jiwanjot was stumped by Eklavya Dwivedi off Saurabh Kumar. Punjab are now third in the table behind Mumbai and Tamil Nadu.
