The Board of Control for Cricket in India

BCCI to conduct quiz on Laws of Cricket & Playing Conditions for match officials

Owing to the prevailing lockdown conditions all over the country, the umpires & match referees on the BCCI Panel are also homebound like everyone else. To utilize this off period in an effective manner, the Board has decided to conduct quizzes on Laws of Cricket and the BCCI Playing Conditions. The move is aimed at enhancing personal skills and keep the match officials updated and well-prepared for the upcoming season.

The umpires and match referees on the BCCI Panel have been divided into four groups. A set of six questions will be sent to them thrice a month starting from 1st May 2020. The quiz questions will be mailed to them on 1st, 11th and 21st. The answers need to be sent by 7th, 17th and 27th May 2020. The model answers will be sent to the umpires and referees on 10th, 20th and 30th May 2020.

The groups will send their answers individually to one of the International Panel of ICC Umpires from India. This exercise will ensure that umpires and match referees regularly brush through the Laws of Cricket and Playing Conditions.
