India ‘A’ end Day 3 at 127/2 against New Zealand ‘A’

Dane Cleaver missed out on a double ton but his 196 and Mark Chapman’s 114 helped New Zealand ‘A’ secure a 346-run lead over India ‘A’ in the first multi-day game at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Saturday.

New Zealand ‘A’, who resumed the day’s play on the overnight score of 385/5, declared at 562/7 on the third day of the match.

India ‘A’ lost Mayank Agarwal early in the second innings before Abhimanyu Easwaran and Priyank Panchal put up a 59-run stand. However, Ajaz Patel broke the partnership, dismissing Easwaran for 26.

Panchal was then joined by Shubman Gill, India ‘A’s top scorer from the first innings, and the two took India ‘A’ to 127/2 before the close of play.
