India Women claim Emerging Asia Cup 2019 title

The 2019 Emerging Teams Asia Cup was played between India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh in Sri Lanka. India made it to the final with wins against the hosts by 32 runs and an emphatic victory against Pakistan by 7 wickets. In the final, India claimed the title after beating hosts Sri Lanka by 14 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method in Colombo.

 Devika Vaidya and Tanuja Kanwar bagged four wickets each after Tanusree Sarkar's 47 and Simran Bahadur's 34 had helped India post 175 for nine in 50 overs. The Indian bowlers produced a disciplined show and bowled Sri Lanka out for 135 in 34.3 overs to win the tournament at the R Premadasa Stadium.

 Some stellar performances throughout the tournament meant, India walked home with the coveted title.
