Mr. Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from all formats of the game. Having first made his first-class debut in the 2001-02 season for Hyderabad in a Ranji Trophy pre-quarterfinal match against Himachal Pradesh, Rayudu went on to play 55 ODIs and 6 T20Is for India.

āI have come to the decision to step away from the sport and retire from all forms and levels of the game,ā Rayudu informed the Board. āIt has been a wonderful journey of playing the sport and learning from every up and down it brought upon for the last 25 years at various different levels,ā he stated.Ā Ā

He thanked BCCI, the captains he has played under and various state associations that he represented during his long career. āIād like to take this opportunity to thank the BCCI and all the state associations that I have represented which include Hyderabad, Baroda, Andhra and Vidarbha. I also would like to thank the two IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for their support.
