India Blue were trailing by 151 runs with seven wickets in hand when play had to be called off due to wet outfield on Day 3. At stumps India Blue were 232 for three with Hanuma Vihari batting on 88 and Deepak Hooda on 37.
After Vihari and Hooda resumed India Blue’s first innings on 216 for three on the third morning, rain stopped play 4.4 overs into the day’s play. 16 runs were added during the 28 balls of play proceedings were halted in Kanpur.
Although rain stopped later, wet outfield and ground conditions did not allow for play to resume.
The partnership for the fourth wicket between the opener and the middle-order batsman was unbroken on 73 when play ended for the day. With just a day left in the game the teams will be looking to pull off a first innings lead when play resumes on Day 4 as they stare at a Draw.
