B Anirudh helps Hyderabad to a first innings lead with an unbeaten 44 off 111 balls even as bowlers made hay in Guwahati. Hyderabad’s Akash Bhandari returned with figures of 3-3-0-4 as he helped bundle Himachal out for a paltry total.
Andhra skittled Haryana out for a small score and had taken their lead to 245 until the end of second day’s play at the Wankhede Stadium.
RS Gahlaut helped Services to a solid first innings total with a 182-run knock against J & K even as Parvez Rasool finished with a five-for in the innings. While the match between Kerala and Chhattisgarh is precariously poised as team’s fight for a first innings lead, the match between Tripura and Goa too is hanging in balance.

Hyderabad vs Himachal in Guwahati: HP 1st inn 36/10 in 25 overs (R Dhawan 9, A Bhandari 0/4 , R Kiran 3/12, CV Milind 2/15);

After a rain curtailed first day’s play, wickets tumbled in Guwahati on the second day as bowlers dominated the proceedings. 15 wickets fell through the day in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match.
HP resumed their innings on eight for two and were bowled out for 36 earlier in the day. While pacers R Kiran and CV Milind had claimed the top five batsmen between them and Md. Siraj claimed captain Rishi Dhawan, Akash Bhandari wrapped up the innings with a four-for. The leg-spinner claimed four wickets without conceding a run; his figures read - 3-3-0-4. Himachal had five ducks in their innings while the skipper was the top-scorer with just nine runs.
Himachal captain Rishi Dhawan then ran through the Hyderabad lineup but a determined knock by Anirudh had helped the team seize a first innings lead. The pacer claimed Benjamin with five runs on the board. However, Anirudh, who came to the crease in the third over held the innings together. Along with Akshath Reddy (23) he took the side to 43 until Dhawan struck again to send back the opener. The HP skipper continued to strike at regular intervals but the No 3 bat kept his team in the reckoning.
Anirudh was batting on 44 off 111 balls with CV Milind yet to open his account as he took the team to stumps at 99 for seven with a 63-run first innings lead.

Andhra dominated on the second day of the ongoing match in Mumbai. After being bowled out for the addition of 36 runs to their overnight score of 217 for six on the second morning they skittled the opposition out for a subpar score and returned to add to the lead later in the day.
Haryana’s Yuzvendra Chahal (five for 81) and S Pahal claimed two wickets each to wrap up the Andhra’s first innings earlier in the day for 253.
The Siva Kumar-led attack then skittled Haryana out for a paltry 103 to seize a 153-run first innings lead.
After debutant, Imandi Karthik Raman ended the opening stand for 30 with the wicket of Virender Dahiya, Siva Kumar sent back N Saini in the next without addition to the score line. Wickets continued to fall in pairs as the pacers ran through the lineup. Few overs later with the team on 34, Siva Kumar picked two more off successive overs. With Bhargav Bhatt and P Vijay Kumar chipping in with wickets, Haryana were left tottering on 100 for eight. Siva then claimed S Pahal and A Hooda off back-to-back deliveries to bowl the opposition out.
Building on the sizeable lead, Andhra were 95 for three at the end of day’s play as Mohit Sharma struck twice after A Hooda trapped opener KS Bharat for one. At stumps, captain GH Vihari was batting on 47 with DB Ravi Teja yet to open his account.
Tripura vs Goa in Bhubaneshwar: Tripura 1st inn 283/10 in 80 overs (RA Dey 87, AA Dey 58, S Jakati 4/67, S Bandekar 3/44); Goa 1st inn 220/8 in 81 overs (S Asnodkar 57, S Kauthankar 43, G Singh 3/40, MB Murasingh 2/50) Trail by 63 runs
At the end of day’s play Goa were trailing 63 runs with two wickets in hand against Tripura as the teams look to secure a first innings lead in the ongoing game. Sumiran Amonkar and Swanil Asnodkar put up a 51-run opening stand until Gurinder Singh claimed the former. The bowler then followed up with the wicket of Darshan Misal to leave Goa on 66 for two.
Asnodkar then looked to shape the innings with Snehal Kauthankar, but was bowled by Murasingh for 57 a while later with the team on 137.
Wickets then continued to fall at regular intervals keeping the match precariously poised. At stumps Goa were 220 for eight in reply to Tripura’s first innings total of 283 for 10.

Bowled out for 477 on the second day, Services lost their remaining seven wickets on Friday for the addition of 190 runs to their overnight score. S Yadav was the first to be sent back, trapped lbw by Ram Dayal for his overnight score of 72 with the team on 300. V Hathwala then joined R Gahlaut in carrying the innings forward.
While Gahlaut continued to anchor the innings Amir Aziz accounted for Hathwala and Nakul Verma to leave the team on 421 for six. And two runs later Parvez Rasool ended the middle-order bat’s innings for 182. The spinner then claimed two more to finish with a five-for as he wrapped up the innings.
Shubham Khajuria and Ian Chauhan then had helped J & K to 96 for one until end of day’s play. The opener was batting on 34 with the senior No 3 batsman not out on 30 at stumps.
Chhattisgarh vs Kerala in Jamshedpur: Kerala 1st inn 207/10 in 71.2 overs (M Kareparambil 24, S Ruikar 5/50); Chhattisgarh 1st inn 179/9 in 90 overs (A Chauhan 37, A Khare 35, M Kareparambil 3/34, I Abdullah 3/26) Trail by 28 runs
S Ruikar claimed the remaining two Kerala wickets in the morning to finish with a five-for as he bowled Kerala out for 207 on the second morning.
While Monish Kareparambil claimed three of the top four batsmen in the Chhattisgarh lineup, Iqbal Abdullah claimed three for 26, while Jalaj Saxena picked two as they kept the opposition on a tight leash. Running through the lineup the Kerala attack had helped Chhattisgarh to 179 for nine at stumps on Day 2.
