The BCCI condoles the sad demise of Prabir Mukherjee, the former chief curator of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) who passed away after a bout of ill health on Tuesday night at his residence in Kolkata. He was 86.
The veteran curator looked after the Eden Gardens' pitch for over two decades.
Mr. Mukherjee took to pitch preparation way back in 1951-52. He was introduced to pitch-making by Kartik Bose, the then chief coach of the CAB. Mr. Mukherjee was also appointed manager for Bengal and East Zone teams after becoming a part of the CAB.
