We have seen plenty of action on Day 1 and 2. There is plenty for the bowlers to be licking their lips about in the way this pitch has performed. One thing I can tell you for sure is that, Day 3 is going to be the last day of this Test.
If you have to back one team at this moment, you have to go for India. They have just eight wickets to go and have 278 runs to play with.
I would expect a better batting performance from South Africa than what we saw in the first innings. All their batsmen should have a better idea from what to expect from this pitch and I think we will see better application particularly from the middle order.
People like Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers are fantastic players of spin, but got out cheaply in the first innings. Can they pull off a miracle and go on to win the game? I would not be betting on it, but you never know. The game of cricket is very strange. A lot will depend on the senior players coming through. If de Villiers can get going, he can bat on any surface, against any attack and make an impact.
The Indian bowlers have shown impressive form and great control and I expect more of the same from the three Indian spinners. I expect them to bring India home to a series win and wrap things up in Nagpur.
