Sandeep Sharma received his maiden India cap from Ajinkya Rahane ahead of the first T20I against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. He became the 50th player to represent India in the shortest format of the game.
Sandeep, a right-arm medium pacer who plies his trade for Punjab at the domestic circuit, has been a success at the T20 game playing for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. He impressed one and all with his skills while opening the bowling against some of the best batsmen in the world, and in IPL 2015 he also showed his worth as a death bowler.
Sandeep made his first-class debut in 2011, since when he has played 27 matches for 111 wickets at an average of 22.58. Since 2012 Sandeep has also played 25 List A matches and 43 T20s with 45 and 54 wickets respectively.
