Barbados, June 28: West Indies have won the toss and elected to bowl first at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown where the moist track is expected to aid the pacers.
India have brought in fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun while Marlon Samuels finds a place in the WI playing eleven.
Captain speak:
Darren Sammy (West Indies):
On winning the toss: “We know that in Barbados [the pitch has] moisture early up and so far in the one-day series and the Test series our opening bowlers have managed to exploit the top order so we are looking to do that.”
On the overcast weather conditions: “The gloomy conditions will help our swing bowlers and hopefully we can put India on the back-foot early.”
MS Dhoni (India):
On the disappointment of losing the toss: “There is a bit of moisture in the wicket and I feel it won’t change as the game progresses so it wouldn’t have been a bad idea to bowl first.”
On the team: “[We] have brought in Abhimanyu Mithun in place of [Amit] Mishra so it’s a 3-1 attack and if needed we have part-timers who can bowl a bit of spin.”
On Abhimanyu Mithun: “He is a fast bowler […] committed guy, can bowl at a decent pace. Whatever game he has got for us till now he has done really well.”
