New Delhi, Dec 18: Middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma scored a fluent century as Mumbai tightened their grip on Day 3 crushing Delhi’s hopes of an outright win in the Ranji Trophy Super League match at the Roshanara Club here on Friday.
Rohit Sharma smashed 148 and added 191 runs for the fifth wicket with Prashant Naik. Mumbai were 487 for eight at stumps on Day 3 and stretched their lead to a massive 553 which is virtually impossible to chase down on the final day.
Resuming at 74 for two, Mumbai scored 413 on a single day as the Delhi bowlers failed to seize the initiative when the visitors were reduced to 169 for five before Lunch.
Iqbal Abdullah, who triggered Delhi's collapse with a five-wicket haul Thursday, was batting at a brisk 73 and Moondeep Mangela 26 at the end of day’s play.
