Vizag, Mar 22: Australia registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over India at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here to take a 4-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. After winning the ODI series 3-0, the visitors will now be looking for 5-0 sweep of the Twenty20 series. The home team, on the other hand, will be desperate to end the series with a win.
Asked to field, the Australians bundled out India for paltry 85-runs and then chased down the total without losing a wicket and with 7.4 overs to spare.
Juile Hunter claimed Sulakshana Naik and Mithali Raj in the first over while Sharon Millanta dismissed Amita Sharma in the second over to put the hosts on the back-foot early in the innings. After losing three wickets with just five runs on the board, Harmanpreet Kaur once again showed some resistance with a valiant 32 while Anjum Chopra chipped in with 16 runs before being castled by Meg Lanning. Jess Jonassen then followed up with the wicket of Kaur. With half the side back in the pavilion, Ellyse Perry picked the wickets of Veda Krishnamurthy and Reema Malhotra and with Subhlaxmi Sharma being run out, Hunter added two more scalps to her tally to wrap up the Indian innings.
Australian opener Alyssa Healy struck a 44-ball 54, while Meg Lanning scored 30 off as many balls, to take the visitors to a comfortable win over India.
Brief scores: India 85 all out in 19 overs (H Kaur 32, J Hunter 4/15, E Perry 2/11) lost to Australia 86/0 in 12.2 overs (A Healy 54*, M Lanning 30*) by 10 wickets
