Hyderabad, Jan 28: The third day of the second semi-final between South Zone and Central Zone ended with the latter on 73/2 in their second innings with Mohnish Mishra on 30 and Naman Ojha on 33 at the crease.
The day turned out to be a rewarding one for the South Zone batsmen. Building on their Day 2 score of 132/ 2, they made 504 /7 before making a declaration at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
With a lead of 769 runs and just one more day left, the semi-final between South Zone and Central Zone is now tipped in favour of South Zone.
Abhinav Mukund, who had scored a century in the previous innings, made 165 runs with 21 fours and three sixes while Amit Verma’s 147 runs consisted of 15 fours and three sixes. The duo was involved in a third-wicket partnership for 236 runs.
