Match report: WI vs Ind (Women), 4th T20I

Dominica, Feb 24: The reigning women’s world player of the year, Stafanie Taylor, scored an unbeaten 37 to help West Indies clinch their Twenty20 International series against India Women with a six-wicket victory. The home team has now taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series.

Chasing 95, WI achieved their target with three balls to spare. After Jhulan Goswami removed opener Juliana Nero with just three runs on the board, Stafanie Taylor helped her team home with an unbeaten 58-ball 37-run knock.  Stacy-Ann King chipped in with 10 runs while Deandra Dotting contributed a valuable 26 before being castled by Gouher Sultana.

Earlier, the home team restricted India to 94 for four after electing to field first in the fourth T20I. Wicketkeeper Sulakshana Naik, who opened the batting with Amita Sharma instead of the regular opener Mithali Raj, returned without scoring. West Indies left-arm pacer Shanel Daley first bowled Naik out and then pocketed the wickets of Sharma and Goswami. India innings, tottering at 11 for three, was anchored by Mithali who scored an unbeaten 49 while lower-order batswomen, Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy made valuable contributions of 17 and 14* respectively.
