Vadodara, Jan 4: Baroda thrashed Karnataka by seven wickets in the Ranji Trophy semi-final at Vadodara to enter the final for the first time since 2002. In a match that lasted less than five sessions, as many as 33 wickets fell in less than two days.
Karnataka were bowled out for 88 runs in the second innings on Tuesday after having folded for 107 on the first day in their first innings.
Bhargav Bhatt (5/30) and Swapnil Singh (5/20) claimed five wickets each to hand over an outright win to Baroda.
Opener Robin Uthappa was the top scorer with 35 runs.
Baroda achieved the target of 43 runs by losing three wickets after Connor Williams made 18 and Jayskishan Kolsawala remained unbeaten on 16. Baroda had made 153 runs in the first innings.
Baroda will now play the winner of the second semi-final being played between Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy final.
