Unmukt Chand and Yuvraj Singh took North Zone to a eight-wicket win over Central Zone under the VJD system to enter the Prof D B Deodhar Trophy Final.
In the rain-curtailed 45-over a side first semi-final at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati, North Zone opener, Chand, played a patient knock, while Yuvraj Singh unleashed himself on the opposition to reach the 160-run target with 19 balls to spare. Although they lost opener Chandan Madan and skipper Gautam Gambhir with 31 runs on the board, Chand and Yuvraj ensured an effortless victory for their team.
Earlier, the North Zone bowlers wrapped up the Central Zone innings for 190 in 41.5 overs, after Gambhir opted to bowl first. Amit Mishra claimed three, while Rajat Paliwal took two, while the rest of the bowlers chipped in with a wicket each to bowl the opposition out.
