Dominica, July 10: Rahul Dravid and Ishant Sharma emerged as the leading run-getter and leading wicket-taker respectively for India in the recently concluded three-match Test series against West Indies in the Caribbean. Dravid’s battling century in the second innings of the Jamaica Test gave India its only win while Ishant’s 22-wicket haul put the West Indies under pressure right through the series.
For the West Indies, Shivnarine Chanderpaul was the highest run-getter with 241 runs. The left-handed batsman’s 116 not out in the Dominica Test was instrumental in denying India a 2-0 series win. Fidel Edwards, with 19 wickets, including a series best of five for 76, finished as the leading wicket-taker for the hosts and second highest overall.
