The diminutive but skilled Parthiv made his Test debut for India as a 17-year-old when India toured England in 2002. From being India's first choice wicketkeeper then to falling off the selectors' radar by the end of 2004, Parthiv Patel's journey has been a dramatic one. Yet, owing to a string of consistent performances on the domestic circuit and in the IPL, Patel has managed to stay in contention as a backup to India’s first choice wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni.
