About MOHAMMED

Mohammad Siraj is one of world cricket’s most skillful and aggressive fast bowlers, renowned for his rapid evolution and adaptability. As the game’s demands have shifted, Siraj has continuously expanded his repertoire—mastering inswing, outswing, cutters, the back-of-the-hand slower ball, and the wobble-seam delivery. This diverse skill set makes him an unpredictable threat and keeps batters constantly guessing.

Siraj burst into prominence during the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy season, finishing as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 41 wickets for Hyderabad in only his second year. His rapid rise earned him an India T20I debut against New Zealand in Rajkot in November 2017. He went on to make his ODI debut against Australia in 2019, and a year later, his Test debut in Melbourne during the 2020–21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. There, he impressed immediately—picking up five wickets in the match and playing a crucial role in India’s historic series Test series win on Australian soil.

Siraj soon emerged as a potent ODI bowler, especially in the powerplay. In January 2023, he became the No. 1 ranked ODI bowler in the world. Later that year, he produced a sensational spell of 6/21—his best ODI figures—in the Asia Cup final, decimating Sri Lanka at home. He also featured in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, forming a formidable trio with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, which significantly strengthened India’s bowling attack. In 2024, Siraj was selected for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and played all matches in the USA leg, contributing to India’s title-winning campaign.

Siraj’s stature grew even further in the 2025 Test series against England, known as the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy. Leading the pace attack, he claimed 23 wickets across all five Tests, showcasing outstanding fitness, intensity, and commitment. His relentless spells and big-hearted performances earned him the popular moniker “Lion Heart,” as he played a pivotal role in helping India secure a memorable series draw on English soil.

Siraj’s journey is a powerful testament to passion, perseverance, and an unwavering desire to give everything for the team. From domestic standout to a vital member of India’s pace arsenal across formats, he has established himself as one of the most dependable and impactful fast bowlers of his generation.
