About

A new-ball bowler and a powerful hitter of the ball, Pooja Vastrakar has been a utility player for Team India. For someone who grew up watching and idolising the legendary Jhulan Goswami, Vastrakar possesses a good combo of swing, seam, yorker, and bouncer. She can provide power-hitting down the order and is electric on the field.

Born on September 25, 1999, Pooja Vastrakar hails from Bilaspur, Madhya Pradesh. She made her international debut in 2018 against South Africa in Potchefstroom. In just her second ODI, she scored a half-century, hitting 51 off 56 balls against Australia in Vadodara. She played a handy knock of 30 off 33 in the next match against Australia, along with impressing with her bowling variations. The right-arm pacer has featured in all three formats for India. She made her Test debut against England at Bristol in 2021. Vastrakar is known for her ability to consistently bowl at good pace and generate movement off the pitch. She has demonstrated promising performances with the ball at both domestic and international levels.
