About Abhishek

A swashbuckling left-handed batter with a fearless approach, Abhishek Sharma blends pure flair with elegant strokeplay. Hailing from Amritsar, Punjab, the left-hander also offers effective left-arm spin, adding an extra dimension to his game and making him a captain’s asset. Abhishek first caught attention when he led India U19 to the Youth Asia Cup title in 2016, excelling both as captain and as the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker. Two years later, he played a key role in India’s triumphant run at the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup in New Zealand, making an impact with both bat and ball.

He made his T20I debut for India in September 2024 against Zimbabwe and has been a consistent force at the top ever since. Within a year, Abhishek became the second-fastest Indian to reach 1000 T20I runs, a feat surpassed only by Virat Kohli.

Abhishek Sharma’s rise reflects unwavering dedication and the belief to challenge the best in the world. His attacking mindset has been central to India’s blistering starts, repeatedly laying a strong foundation for the innings to follow.
