Hailing from a sporting family, stylish left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan came into the limelight with his performance in T20 franchise cricket in 2021. Sudharsan quickly found himself playing for Tamil Nadu across formats and was part of the team that won the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. While he also secured a TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) contract, the youngster continued to score heavily in domestic cricket, ending up as the third-highest run-getter in the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 610 runs in 8 matches opening the innings. His Ranji Trophy career also got off to a dream start as he smashed two hundreds in as many outings including a knock of 179 on debut. With consistent performances on the domestic circuit and in the IPL, Sudharsan went on to make his international debut in the ODI format in late 2023, at the age of 22, before going on to represent India across formats. The tall and elegant southpaw - who can also bowl a bit of part-time leg-spin - proved he belongs at the big stage with two half-centuries in his first two ODI innings, against South Africa.
