Hardik Pandya never lets pressure affect his game; instead, he relishes such situations. A big-hitting finisher, quick bowler, and brilliant fielder, Hardik ticks all the boxes that a team desires from an all-rounder. It was no surprise that he was fast-tracked into the Indian ODI and T20I side after a successful run in the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL). While injury concerns and workload management meant that Hardik’s Test career could not quite take off despite a strong start, he kept working on his fitness and skillset to become one of the great all-rounders in India’s limited-overs cricket history. A multiple-time IPL winner, including one of those titles coming as a captain, it was the dream of an ICC title that remained unfulfilled for years. But it was Hardik’s exploits in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final in 2024, where he defended 16 runs in the final over under immense pressure that earned India their first ICC title in 11 years. He then played a major role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy title victory in March 2025, before then shining bright again with crucial batting cameos and bowling important overs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 winning campaign. An experienced campaigner, Hardik is best known for standing tall under pressure.
