Mumbai beat Jharkhand to win Women's Under-23 T20 Trophy

Bowlers starred as Mumbai beat Jharkhand by seven wickets to win the Women’s Under-23 T20 Trophy at the Siechem Stadium in Puducherry on Thursday.

Electing to bowl, Mumbai restricted Jharkhand to 63/9 as Janhvi, skipper M Dakshini and Manjiri Gawade scalped two wickets each.

Jharkhand lost three wickets for six runs in under five overs at the start and never really recovered thereon.

Mumbai openers - Jemimah Rodrigues, who plays for Indian women cricket team, and Vrushali Bhagat – added 22 runs for the first wicket before the former got out for 14.

While Mumbai lost two more wickets, Bhagat, who remained unbeaten, scoring 29 off 40 balls, helped the side win the final by seven wickets and 6.4 overs to spare to clinch the title with
