BCCI appoints Mr. Hemang Amin as COO – IPL

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday appointed Mr. Hemang Amin as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the VIVO Indian Premier League.

Mr. Amin was most recently Asst. General Manager – Finance, Commercial & Events at BCCI and was recognized for successfully handling the management and operations of world’s premier T20 league – VIVO IPL. He has been with BCCI for the last 7 years.

Mr. Amin will continue to report to Mr. Rahul Johri - CEO, BCCI.

Acting President of the BCCI, Mr. CK Khanna said, “Mr. Amin has been instrumental during a pivotal transition period for the IPL. His leadership over the past 7 years has shaped IPL’s strategy, laying a strong foundation for future course, improvements and success.”

“Mr. Amin’s experience, strong leadership and inclusive management style will further elevate the Indian Premier League and grow engagement among fans around the world.”

BCCI announces cash prize for Team India (Women)

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced a cash prize of INR 50 lakhs for each member of Team India (Women) for their performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. The support staff of Team India (Women) will receive INR 25 lakhs each.

Team India will play England in the finals on July 23 (Sunday) at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Mr. Vinod Rai, Chairman of CoA, said: "I would like to congratulate the Indian Women's Cricket Team for their exemplary show in the ICC Women's World Cup. The team has shown tremendous character and the girls have raised the bar with each passing game under the able leadership of Mithali Raj. The Women's World Cup has been widely followed across India and this team's spirit and performance on the field has won admirers all over the world. I am sure this team has inspired the next generation of cricketers and many more girls will take up the sport in the years to come."

Acting President, Mr. CK Khanna said, “The BCCI acknowledges the performance of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team that has qualified for the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. The team has a good blend of young talent and experienced campaigners in Captain Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. The all-round performance was on display in the semi-final against Australia Women, who have won the World Cup six times. The fearless batting of Harmanpreet Kaur mirrors the team’s approach under pressure.”

Acting Hony. Secretary, Mr. Amitabh Choudhary said, “The BCCI would like to announce a cash prize of INR 50 lakh to each member of the squad and INR 25 lakh to each member of the Support Staff. We wish them the best as they prepare for their biggest match tomorrow at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.”
