Vizag, Mar 19:  Jess Cameron propelled Australia to an eight-wicket win against India at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here. Continuing their winning streak, the visitors now lead the five-match series 2-0.

Cameron played a key role in her team’s victory, scoring 68 off 54 balls.  She was ably supported by Meg Lanning (40 off 39) in the chase. Subhlaxmi Sharma dismissed opener Leah Poulton in the second over of the game to give India their first breakthrough, but Cameron and Lanning put up a 98-run partnership that helped Australia cruise to victory with 16 balls to spare.

After India opted to bat first, the home team set the visitors a target of 112 in the second match here. Opener Amita Sharma was run out for 28 after putting together 40 runs for the first wicket with skipper Anjum Chopra (33). Mithali Raj, who replaced her at the crease, added 18 runs to the total before being sent back by Juile Hunter for 18 runs. Pacer Sarah Coyte then removed Chopra, who was the top-scorer for India, in the next over. Batting with Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy played a nine-ball cameo for 15 runs to take the Indian total to 111.

The next three T20Is between the two teams are day/night games from March 21-23, 2012.
