Match report: Aus v Ind – 4th Test, Day 5
Adelaide, Jan 28: Australia have completed a 4-0 series sweep against India by recording a 298-run victory in the fourth and final Test match here at the Adelaide Oval. The hosts took just 13.4 overs to bowl India out after the visitors resumed their innings at 166, thereby handing the visitors their eighth successive defeat in overseas Tests.
Needing only four wickets to win on Day 5, Ryan Harris had nightwatchman Ishant Sharma (2) edge the ball to wicketkeeper Brad Haddin who completed a regulation catch in just the third over of the morning. Ten deliveries later, Peter Siddle had Wriddhiman Saha (3) caught by Haddin in similar fashion.
Zaheer Khan struck a few lofty shots in his 18-ball cameo of 15 runs but eventually ended up offering a simple catch to David Warner off Ben Hilfenhaus with the Indian score at 193. Eight runs later, Umesh Yadav (5) became the last Indian wicket to fall as he edged a flighted delivery from offspinner Nathan Lyon to Haddin.
