Odisha beat Assam, while Jharkhand beat Tripura in the ongoing Inter State One-Day League’s East Zone matches played on Saturday, February 16. Here is the round-up for the day:
East Zone
Assam vs Odisha in Kolkata: Odisha beat Assam by eight wickets at the Eden Gardens. Opting to field first, the Abu Nechim Ahmed-led side restricted Odisha to 140. With the exception of No.4 bat Govind Podder who scored a half-century, the Odisha line-up failed to contribute. Assam’s Pritam das claimed a five-for, while Gokul Sharma took two wickets. With 62 runs, opener Pallavkumar Das then took the Assam to victory in 34.3 overs.
Jharkhand vs Tripura in Jadhavpur, Bengal: Jharkhand defeated Tripura by 34 runs at the Jadavpur University Complex.
Asked to bat first, Jharkhand posted 232 runs, before being bowled out. Ishank Jaggi top-scored with a 102-ball 84-run knock, before being sent back by MB Murasingh. The pacer finished with a four-for, while Timir Chanda and Udit Patel picked two wickets apiece. Successfully defending the total, Jaskaran Singh, Subroto Gosh and skipper Shahbaz Nadeem claimed three wickets apiece. Rahul Shukla chipped in with one wicket to bowl Tripura out for 198 in 48.2 overs.
