Ind Red, Ind Blue in Challenger Trophy finals

India Red will take on India Blue in the final of the AIRTEL Women’s Challenger Trophy, on Tuesday, 18 December 2012, at the MCA Recreation Centre, BKC, Mumbai.

The tournament, involving three teams – India Blue, India Red and India Green (under-19) - got underway on Saturday, 15 December 2012. All three league matches were played at the MCA Recreation Centre, BKC, Mumbai.

The brief scores of the league matches are as follows:

Match one - India Blue vs India Red - 15.12.2012

India Blue won the toss and elected to field.

India Red  180/10 in 49.2 overs (M. Thirushkamini 43, Amita Sharma 37, Reema Malhotra 3/37)
beat

India Blue 45/10 in 29 overs (Kavita Patil 3/7, Amita Sharma 2/12, Ritu Dhrub 2/11).

India Red won by 135 runs, with 126 balls to spare, and gained a bonus point.

Match two – India Red vs India Green – 16.12.2012

India Green won the toss and elected to bat.

India Green 160/9 in 50 overs (Smriti Mandana 47, Sarika Koli 50, Ekta Bist 3/27)

Lost to

India Red 161/0 in 35.5 overs (Anagha Deshpande 53*, M. Thirushkamini 95*)

India Red won by ten wickets, with 85 balls to spare, and gained a bonus point.

Match three - India Blue vs India Green  - 17.12.2012

India Blue won the toss and elected to field.

India Green 153/10 in 49.3 overs (Smriti Mandana 69)

Lost to

India Blue 154/2 in 39.5 overs (Punam Raut 74, Shweta Jadhav 57)

India Blue won by 8 wickets, with 61 balls to spare, and gained a bonus point.
