Mumbai, June 12: Sachin Tendulkar was honoured with the Wisden India Outstanding Achievement Award for his unprecedented record of scoring 100 centuries in international cricket. The Indian batting maestro became the first recipient of the award which has been incorporated this year.

The award was presented to Tendulkar in Dubai, at the first of the six special dinners to be held across the world. According to a Wisden media release, the Celebration Series gives Tendulkar’s fans the world over to interact with the man himself and listen as he talks about the highs and lows of his illuminating cricketing career.

The trophy presented to Tendulkar is made of crystal and it features a cricket ball resting on the open pages of a book. The 49 one-day international centuries that Tendulkar has made are listed on one side, and his 51 Test hundreds on the other.
