Mirpur, March 22: India’s journey in the 2012 Asia Cup was marked by some memorable highs – Sachin Tendulkar’s hundredth hundred, Virat Kohli’s spellbinding 183 – but marred by the defeat at the hands of underdogs Bangladesh that damaged their chances irreversibly. They may not have made it to the final, but there’s much to be said about Kohli’s defiant performance through the tournament; his 357 at an average of 119 is a sign of greater things to come. Amongst the bowlers, offspinner R Ashwin, and medium-pacers Irfan Pathan and Praveen Kumar, share similar figures, tied on five wickets each with a bowling average in the 30s and with Ashwin displaying the best economy-rate.
