West Zone convincingly beat North Zone to retain the Deodhar Trophy for the second consecutive year in 2012-13. A wonderful batting display by the Parthiv Patel-led side helped West Zone lift the trophy at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. After Unmukt Chand (88) and Yuvraj Singh (67) helped North Zone set a competitive target, Parthiv Patel and Manprit Juneja struck half-centuries to set up a win for West Zone. Amabti Rayudu (78*) took the team across the line and was well supported by Kedar Jadhav’s quick-fire fifty.
