East Zone retained the Duleep Trophy in 2012-13 on the basis of their first innings lead against Central Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. After Ishank Jaggi scored an unbeaten century to help post a 232-run target, Anustup Majumdar’s four-wicket haul along with Iresh Saxena's fiver helped the Natraj Behera-led side restrict Central Zone to 189. Jaggi was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his impressive performance with the bat.
