Riding on MC Mohamed’s gritty century, Uttar Pradesh defeated Madhya Pradesh by 44 runs to win the under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2011-’12 in Mysore. UP posted a total of 288 runs for the loss of eight wickets thanks largely to Mohamed (105 off 145 balls) and AD Nath (88 off 67 balls). In reply, MP managed 244 in their quota of 50 overs. UP’s Mohd. Idrish and SRC Kumar contributed with two wickets apiece.
