Despite being one of the younger members of the team, Thirush Kamini is also one of the more experienced ones. At 22, she has already played 21 ODIs and a T20I. The leg-spinner from Chennai started out pretty early, playing cricket since the age of nine. She attained her professional cricket training at the Sports and Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, where she often played with the boys as a wicketkeeper.
Kamini made her debut in the 2006 Asia Cup where she took eight wickets at 10.87 to win the Player of the Tournament during India’s successful campaign. The performance included a career-best 3/19 against Pakistan on debut.
