Ashoke Dinda is a spirited fast bowler who plays domestic cricket for Bengal. Although he made his first-class debut as a 21-year-old in November 2005, Dinda has gained prominence in recent years owing to his consistent performance on the domestic circuit. He finished the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy season as the second highest wicket-taker with 37 scalps, despite Bengal not progressing beyond the league stage.
A player with over 170 first-class wickets, Dinda gives his 100 percent while running in to bowl. His commitment is, perhaps, what led the Australian batting great Ricky Ponting to rate Dinda as a promising talent when the two played for KKR in the inaugural season of the IPL. Dinda made his T20I debut for India in December 2009 and ODI debut in May 2010.
