Roy made her ODI debut at the Women`s Asia Cup and scored 44 against Sri Lanka in her first match. But the 2009 World Cup was a watershed in her career. She emerged as India’s highest wicket-taker in the competition, and the third overall, with twelve scalps from seven matches. Her best performance was 4-14 against the West Indies. She destroyed Pakistan in the ICC World T20 with figures of 5-16 and became the first woman to take five wickets at the ICC World T20. She is a useful lower-order batsman as well.
