Rumeli Dhar made her debut for India against England in the Mini World Cup in 2003. A genuine all-rounder, she is a top-order bat, medium-pacer and an excellent fielder. She produced several significant performances in the 2005 World Cup. Her performances for Young India in Pakistan in 2005-06 were outstanding. She averaged 109 with the bat and took six wickets. She was outstanding with bat and ball in the Asia Cup too. She took eight wickets and had scores of 92 and 51 in the round-robin games against Pakistan and 50 against Sri Lanka in the final. She excelled in the 2009 World Cup, winning the ‘Player of the Match’ Award in India’s first game against Pakistan and in the third-place playoff against Australia. She presently holds the sixth spot in the ICC ODI Championship Bowling Rankings.
